How Easton is sleeping nowadays...

This is how I found Easton this morning...he has been wearing this hat non-stop recently! Jason was so excited about him wanting to wear hats finally that he ordered him a few ball caps--but he won't have anything to do with them--he just wants to wear this "Snoop Dog" hat as we call it! He likes to sleep with his gun every night --just in case he needs it, and he never sleeps without Snoopy...so he was quite a sight in the morning! He is such a mess!

The whole gun thing is outa control!

Okay, so I gave in and let Jason get Easton a few guns a while back, right? And, I have been feeling like we have been able to discuss the rules of gun safety with him now--like we don't point guns at people, etc... but seriously--it is getting a little out of control. See for yourselves...he will sleep with them, and want to take them everywhere with him. I feel like he has one in his hands at all times!
And, then--this is what happens when he has to leave the gun at home to go somewhere...

Update on the whole Easton's hearing thing...

Okay, so went to the ENT on the 26 of February and he was wonderful! First, we had to do another audiological and to say the least, I was a little nervous because Easton was a real BEAR for the last one. But, as God always does...He answered that prayer and Easton was great! This one was not nearly as long, but he did a lot better and the results were pretty much the same. She actually thought his hearing was a little worse this time, but agreed the fluid was terrible and she felt like he probably had an ear infection right then! (Jason and I had been thinking that for the past day or two--but knew we were coming there...so we just waited.) When we got into see the Dr, he was great. He played with Easton and Elle and when he finally looked at Easton's ears..he said "YUCK!!" He did say that Easton had an ear infection right then...and said that tubes were not even a question...his hearing is terrible and the fluid is terrible--tubes it is! We told him that we had been praying about that being the answer...and he said he loved being the answer to prayers. SO...Easton is getting tubes on the 30th of this month. March 30th. Dr. Garb felt like the tubes would help with the hearing...he couldn't promise it would fix it, but he was optimistic. He agreed Easton could hear--because of how he interacted in the room with us, but when he heard him talk--he said, "wow, he is under water!" He explained that he is hearing like he has his fingers in his ears all the time...so he can hear....it is just muffled. That makes sense. We are still praying for God's provision in this--Easton is an amazing little boy with such an amazing spirit! He has already overcome so much in his short little life--we just can't wait to see what God has in store for him!!

The kids art work

Last week in MOPS, we had this speaker come back from last year to talk about how to do more artwork with your kids. Well, as we ALL know, art is one of my least favorite things to do...so I feel like I have to pray very hard for the Lord to get me past the hatred in order to bless my children with the fun of it all! :) BUT...everytime this lady comes, I really do get excited because I know Elle and Easton will both really enjoy the art. SO...one of the things she talked about doing was putting paint into water guns and spraying it on a canvas. Okay, so I knew Easton would LOVE that and Elle loves ANYTHING with paint! So, it was a winner! I took some of the pictures of the paintings in the playroom and of the kids while they were painting them. They had so much fun! The only thing I will change next time, is that I will choose the colors...I let Elle and Easton pick the colors they wanted to use--so she chose pink (big, fat surprise) and he chose red...so the difference is minimal...then I added a silver to contrast a little...but next time, I will pick very contrasting colors to just make it look more artsy! But, the kids LOVE them and they are so proud of them on the wall!

Easton's new dinner ensemble

Easton has decided that every night for dinner, he would like to eat dinner in his wonderful "First Birthday Hat"...he hated it when he turned 1...but now he can't get enough of it! It just cracks us up and like to call him Snoop Dog while he is wearing it...

Elle praising the Lord

Last week in church, we were standing up singing a praise song and I saw Elle's hands up in the corner of my eye-so I looked down at her and it looked kind of like she was doing the "Sic Em Bears" sign with both hands... ?? I leaned down and asked her what she was doing--she said that there were some hand signs for the song that the other people were doing--and she pointed to some people down on the bottom floor....I looked and they had their hands raised in worship... I almost laughed out loud. But, I calmly told her that they were not doing hand signs and she needed to put her hands down. She did not want to, but she agreed--I told her I would explain later. After church, I explained that some peeople raise their hands, but not in idol worship to the Baylor Bear--but in worship to Christ! She doesn't completely understand--but she will someday--at least she won't look like a nit wit again! ;)
