Birthday dinner

The greatest things about Easton's birthday dinner is that he gets to choose where he wants to go and this year he said the "peanut place" (Roadhouse). The thing is that he was not allowed in that place for the first three years of his life because we did not expose him to any nuts of any kind...and now he just about eats them out of all of the peanuts there! Praise God!! He orders a huge bowl of macaroni and cheese and eats the whole thing. Honestly, if you don't get chill bumps, something is wrong with you. ;). It is a miracle that still causes Jason and I to well up with tears almost every time we go out to eat. It is overwhelming what God has done in Eastons little life in the pat 5 years. I mean, he is only 5...imagine what He has instore for him in his lifetime! As spastic as he is, it's hard to want to calm him down, because you don't want to close off any of that will that God may be trying to foster...

These 5 years have brought so many tears, of laughter, joy, and extreme hurt and pain. But what we have known through it all is that God has been faithful and that He loves Easton more than we ever could. Knowing that kept us going...and to see how He brought him out on the other side is incredible. We are awe struck. Easton still has allergies...and just the other day when he was at my brother and SIL's...he told her that he could not eat something because it had modified food starch in it. She called me and said, seriously that is crazy that he knows that and he is only 5. All I could think was that we are so blessed and that God is equipping him with the skills to take care of himself now. I wasn't there to tell them...or to watch over him. God was...it is so humbling.
