It's always sad when you have family members that get older and the inevitable begins to look close...well, Jason's grandmother recently went through a really bad patch and was in the hospital more than she was home. She has been sick on and off for years and doctors have been stumped by the main cause..always giving her little diagnoses here and there, but nothing that really made her feel better for a long period of time. So she has missed many birthdays, events, etc due to just not feeling herself. But this was different. The doctors said that she needed to be put into hospice. It was so scary and this seemed so out of control. We drove to Waco to see her and just "love on her". My kids have been so blessed to get to spend lots of time with Granny on the weekends when I was working at the Center--they would go over for the day with Jason's mother. So they adore her and Jason's grandfather. We talked to the kids the whole way down about all the things we could do to fill her heart while we were there...that this was not about entertaining them, but really letting her know how much we loved her. The kids were so sweet. Granny was tired --but I for one was very encouraged and felt the Lords presence the entire time we were there! We stayed all afternoon until she needed to rest---but the kids entertained themselves very well when we just needed to be able to visit as adults...:) such great kids!
